The Consol Glass Project

As part of the company’s social responsibility programme (CSRP), we have engaged individual entrepreneurs and small business (SME’s) countrywide in the “Consol Glass Project”.

This project, in conjunction with Consol Glass SA, provides these individuals with the opportunity to collect broken glass (cullet) which is then transported to Consol Glass by Du Plessis Sand and sold to Consol. Du Plessis Sand assists with regard to the supply of bags, trollies, vehicles with cranes and weighing equipment. The Glass Recycling Company also assists us with equipment and logistical advice.

Apart from the benefits to the environment, the major aim of this drive is job creation.
