About Us

Du Plessis Sand started business in 1979 with a single truck. The Company developed into a large fleet consisting mainly of tipper vehicles, flat deck trailers, trailers for medium-sized abnormal loads and also industrial and earthmoving equipment.

Traditionally the company operated in the earthmoving and civil construction sectors. However, as the company is situated amidst the largest chemical plants and related manufacturers, the need to serve these industries too was realized by Management. The Company’s strategy then changed and expanded to accommodate this market as well.

Our Mission

Du Plessis Sand aims to be the preferred logistical supplier through excellent cost-effective service to our customers, backed by an efficient transport and commodity broking service.

Our Service

Du Plessis Sand transports a wide variety of commodities such as coal, fertilizer, cullet, chrome, steel shavings, etc. The main focus is bulk tippers, flat deck trailers and earthmoving equipment.

As part of our logistic services, dedicated equipment is made available to customers for exclusive use on particular contracts, for example: vehicles working on a shift basis for certain products or bulk tippers for the transport of scrap steel on a dedicated route to fulfill contract obligations.

Du Plessis Sand further provides an excellent logistic service whereby transport broking as well as commodity broking is available to further assist customers with the existing transport service.
